Political Dialogue on the Situation in Iran

Over the past year, the Iranian Student Association Mainz & Wiesbaden (IStA) engaged in a series of significant discussions with political decision makers in Germany, including the mayor of Mainz, representatives of Wiesbaden, and the former prime minister of Rhineland-Palatinate. These discussions took place in the context of ongoing developments in Iran and aimed to make the perspectives of Iranian students more visible. Particular attention was given to the situation of the Iranian population and the importance of freedom, human rights, and democratic values. A key aspect of these meetings was communicating the demands of Iranian civil society. IStA actively advocated for international support for a peaceful and sustainable transformation in Iran. These dialogues represent an important step in building long-term relationships with political actors and strengthening the voice of Iranian students at an institutional level.
